History

Computer Center is part of Srinakharinwirot University has been operated since 1982 in form of Computer Service Office. Afterwards, Computer Service Office was promoted as a goverment sector, equivalent to a faculty in accordance of the Announcement of the Ministry of University Affairs, which titled the government division at Srinakharinwirot University (4th issue) B.E. 2536 on 29 th December 1993, and was allowed to establish the Secretary Office, and operate by the Director of Computer Center with complete authority to control the entire center.

In order to operate the center efficiently and able to conform the firm’s missions, Computer Center has divided into four divisions; 1) Director’s Office Division, Information System Division, Operations and Services Division, and Computer System and Network Division, which obtained the approval from the University Board on October 5th, 2001. Therefore, in 2016, Srinakharinwirot University became an autonomous university, Computer Center had changed the operational structure and divided into six divisions as follows;

  • Office of Director
  • Computer System and Network Division
  • Information System Division
  • Information Technology for Education Division (ITED)
  • Operations and Services Division
  • Computer Services Division, Ongkharak

which was approved by the University Board conference at the 13th session of 2016 on October 26th, 2016, and has been enforced from November 1st, 2016.

Computer Center has our main missions to coordinate, create and plan the ICT Master plan, in terms of providing services in university’s computer and network systems, developing the information system, providing computer laboratories and class equipments for classes and researches, including the academic and training service, and computer and equipments system consultation.

Computer Center is the center of information and communication technology which has the universal standard in order to efficiently support the university’s mission.

  1. To develop the infrastructure of information and communication technology in the university.
  2. To develop the information system in order to support the university’s management.
  3. To develop the information and communication technology to support study and research.
  4. To provide the academic services to ICT in order to develop the students and personnel.

 

Core competency

Computer Center is one of the major divisions in the university that provides potentially monitoring, encouraging, supporting and developing an infrastructure of the information technology system for the entire university’s mission.
